Overview

Provide overall management and supervision of a childcare site for less than 76-150 children. Supervises and organizes a safe, high quality YMCA childcare program.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, coordinates and maintains a childcare site.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates Conducts staff meetings and organizes training.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinates and maintains positive public relations and clear communications with families, staff, volunteers, and facility personnel.
  • Maintains required child/staff May provide direct supervision of a group of children as necessary. Work 75% of regular hours in ratio.
  • Implement child care programs in accordance with YMCA Child Care Standards and Licensing.
  • Maintain safety of site and children by implementing the health care plan, risk management and emergency procedures in conformity with YMCA and licensing policies.
  • Maintain accurate records according to YMCA and licensing standards, including attendance records, USDA forms, immunization records, registrations, sign-in/sign-out records, and billing records.
  • Demonstrate the "Character Counts" values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all your dealings with members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.
  • Coordinate and maintain positive public relations and clear communications with parents, staff, volunteers, and school personnel. Coordinate schedule with the YMCA and school calendar.
  • Prepare a monthly parent newletter.
  • Ensure that supplies are maintained and purchased as directed.
  • Market and promote program and ensure full capacity.
  • Conduct staff meetings as necessary for the quality management of the site.
  • Maintains the daily cleanliness and safety of the site.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • For Early Childhood programs: 45 or more college quarter credits in early childhood/child development, or possesses an equivalent educational background, or is a certified child development associate (preferred).
  • For School-Age programs: 30 credits in elementary education, or the educational equivalent, in courses such as recreation, physical education, education, music, art, psychology or social services.
  • 4 years of work experience in a licensed child care center or program.

Posted Salary Range

USD $26.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
